Isiomara joined Legal Services for Children in 2021 as a social work intern, working on the Detained Immigrant Children’s Project. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees at Louisiana State University (LSU). While at LSU, she collaborated with Louisiana Advocates for Immigrants in Detention (LA-AID), visiting people in detention, advocating for humane treatment, and bringing awareness to fellow students on campus. She interned at Louisiana State Penitentiary and worked with offenders on death row, conducting an anger management group and rehabilitation groups. Besides her work at LSC, Isiomara proudly serves in the United States Army Reserve as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). She enjoys visiting local museums, painting, and spending time with her daughter.
