Who We Are

LSC was one of the first organizations to provide holistic services for children and youth, combining legal and social services. LSC’s clients are exclusively children and youth: those in foster care, immigrant youth, youth being pushed out of school via unjust school discipline systems, and youth in need of legal guardianships.

LSC believes our clients deserve opportunities to practice self-determination, so we help youth achieve safety and stability on their own terms. We ask each client what holistic goals they have, provide them with age-appropriate counsel to help them understand their options, and take their lead.

LSC is managed by an executive leadership team supported by an actively engaged Board of Directors, and each of our program areas is led by an expert member of our program staff. LSC’s senior leadership team includes attorneys and social workers with deep expertise in their fields, including LGBTQ family law, the foster care system, cultural competence, and youth trauma. LSC’s Board of Directors brings extensive expertise in youth law and advocacy, as well as decades of experience in pro bono legal practice serving youth clients.
