Josh Meltzer

Josh is Managing Counsel for Education Affairs and Governance at the University of California, Office of the President. Josh advises the Office of the President and the University’s ten campuses and five academic medical centers on matters relating to the First Amendment, civil rights, and responding to federal oversight and investigations. Josh also leads a team that advises on a range of matters relating to University governance, public accountability, conflicts of interest and academic research, and is co-chair of UC Legal’s Pro Bono Committee. Josh was previously a litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson, where he served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Immigration practice, regularly representing clients in immigration court and in guardianship proceedings. Prior to law school, Josh worked on President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. In addition to serving on LSC’s Board, Josh is a member of the Legal Services Corporation’s Emerging Leaders Council.
