Joyeta joined the Detained Immigrant Children’s Project (DICP) at Legal Services for Children in September 2022 as a staff attorney. She is dedicated to advocating for and advancing the rights of youth, especially in the areas of immigration and education. Joyeta was inspired by the experiences of her community to work in the social justice field as an attorney for youth, and graduated from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) in 2021. Prior to joining the DICP team, she was an LSC intern and fellow. Joyeta loves gardening, hiking, trivia competitions, and making (and eating) ice cream.
