Lisa joined LSC as its Development Manager in 2023. Her backgrounds include private sector and nonprofit operations management, higher education research and teaching in sociology and feminist studies, and grantmaking and scholarship programs in private philanthropy. She received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Edinburgh prior to transitioning into nonprofit funding, first with a gender justice-focused private foundation, and later moving to the grantee side with LSC. She is passionate about transforming the power relationships between adults and children and increasing young people’s sovereignty over their lives, and she is proud to be part of an organization that trusts children and youth. When not persuading you (yes, you!) to support LSC’s vital work, Lisa can usually be found playing or adventuring with her rescue mutt Obi Dog Kenobi.
