Partnerships & Projects

Youth in crisis need an effective ecosystem of youth services providers working together to meet their needs. LSC provides training and assistance to other youth-serving organizations, partners with a number of coalitions, and engages in special projects.
Some of our current projects and partnerships include:
Photovoice: Photographs and narratives created by youth documenting their experiences.
Childhood on the Move: An international working group working to create systemic change to better support migrant children and youth.
San Francisco Immigrant Legal Defense Collaborative: A multi-organization collaboration representing San Francisco residents in deportation proceedings.
Child Advocacy Practicums: LSC attorneys teach two practicums at University of California Law San Francisco each year, Lawyering for Children and Child Welfare. LSC’s training of law students interested in child advocacy is generously funded in part by the Bernard E. & Alba Witkin Charitable Foundation.
San Francisco Youth Justice Initiative: A multi-organization initiative focused on reducing the number of young people involved in the justice system in San Francisco by reducing suspensions and chronic absenteeism among San Francisco middle school students.
SF Street Outreach Convening Working Group: In October 2023, legal and social services professionals from across the San Francisco Bay Area gathered to discuss how to improve coordination of services to homeless foster youth who have been commercially sexually exploited. Youth with lived experience participated in the convening and informed the convening report. A working group has been formed to implement the recommendations from the convening.
